Course Description: Introduction to EDI

This hands-on course provides an introduction to EDI, which gives you the fundamentals, definitions and how EDI works. Students are introduced to benefits of EDI; understand how to enable EDI with your trading partners quickly and efficiently and how to dramatically reduce transaction turnaround time. Upon completion of this course students will understand:

• Introduction to ASCII X12
• Introduction to Compliant EDI standards
• Introduction to EDI Data
  • How to read EDI raw data
  • What are ISA, GS, ST, SE, GE and IEA
  • How to read Transaction sets within EDI data
